Our Mission
The purpose of the Coppell Youth Soccer Association (“CYSA” or the “Association”) is to foster and advance youth soccer and to look out for the interests of its members. The program promotes the idea of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty and courage through organized athletic competition. The CYSA goal is to keep the soccer program exciting and concentrate on developing skills, teaching the game rules, cultivating team spirit, instilling respect for the officials, and preparing our players for the next level.
CYSA Leadership
Boundary Lines
The territory under the jurisdiction of the CYSA is defined as being that part of Dallas County, Texas which lies within the boundaries of the Coppell Independent School District, and within the city limits of Coppell. All players not in the CYSA boundary lines wishing to play for the CYSA must have a release form signed by their home association before CYSA may accept them into their program.
Charter and Bylaws - CYSA Bylaws (PDF)
The CYSA is regulated by Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. The Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting of the Board by a majority vote of the voting membership present, provided that notice of the proposed amendment has been made at least 10 days in advance. Notice will be mailed to registered Head Coaches and Team Managers.
North Texas State Soccer Association
CYSA is a member of the North Texas State Soccer Association (NTSSA), which offers CYSA leadership, insurance, legal guidance, coach training, communications with other soccer associations, and tournaments.
Organization Leadership
CYSA is a volunteer-led organization, including the Board of Directors, Commissioners and all recreational coaches.
Medical and Liability Insurance
NTSSA provides Accidental Medical and Liability Insurance for the players, coaches, and assistant coaches of participating teams. This insurance is supplemental to family health coverage and covers accidents occurring while participating in CYSA scheduled games and practices. It also provides liability insurance that covers CYSA coaches, assistant coaches, referees, volunteers, directors and officers.
Tax Exempt Status
NTSSA offers IRS group exemption to the member associations in providing our local association with tax-exempt status as defined in IRS 501(c)(3) status. This classifies the CYSA with tax-exempt status, and it allows tax-deductible donations. This benefit also eliminates initial filing fees and CPA fees associated with annual renewal filings.
