Requirements to Become a Referee
The requirements for becoming a referee are:
- Obtaining a USSF License (see below for clinics)
- Submit a W9 to the CYSA office, form available at the IRS website [PDF] »
- Acquiring proper uniform (see Game Day sidebar)
- Notifying the CYSA that you would like to referee.
- Attend announced meetings
- Recertify your license each year
Clinics
The CYSA holds clinics for L9 annually in August and sometimes in February. Refer to Alternate Clinics on this page for other available clinics. Bookmark this page for announcements

Recreational Grade 09 Level Referee Clinic
- Date: Friday, Febuary 8 and Saturday February 9 (both class times required)
- Location: Coppell Fire Department Training Room, 133 Parkway Blvd
- Time: 6-9 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday
Referee Meeting
Meetings are held at the beginning of the fall and spring season. Bookmark this page for announcements of future meetings or refer to the CYSA Calendar for notices before the beginning of each season.
Attendance is mandatory to receive your full bonus of 20% for the season. This also provides a way for your assignor to know your availability for officiating. If you have a conflict and cannot attend, contact your assignor. Their email address and phone numbers are listed here.
Please bring updated email address(es) when attending the meeting. New referees need to be prepared to complete a W9 form which requires a social security number.
Spring Season 2013 Meeting Scheduled
The referee meeting dates for this season will be held on 10 February and 17 February from 7:00 - 8:00 at Coppell Fire Department Training room(133 Parkway Blvd, Coppell). Referees only need to attend one of the meetings. Attendance is mandatory for all referees wishing to referee for the CYSA for spring 2013. Please contact if you cannot make it to one of the meetings.
Recertification
Recertifications are generally held annually at the end of the CYSA Fall season. Bookmark this page for announcements of future clinics.
