Coppell Youth Soccer is extremely proud of its Coppell Academy, which is completing its eighth season this spring. We currently have nine Academy teams for U7 to U10 age groups. Click here to see a list of the current teams and coaches.
The Coppell Academy program partners CYSA recreational players with professional coaches from Challenger Sports. It provides an opportunity for talented players to enjoy advanced training right here in Coppell. Our teams compete in the United Academies League (UAL) against club Academy teams from across DFW within the North Texas Academy League concept.
Our philosophy is based around developing individual talent with a fun, team centered environment. We hold weekly practices on Wednesdays (with the exception of U10 teams which will participate in two practices per week). We have a strong desire to improve each player to be the best player and person they can possibly be, both on and off the field. Our coaching approach is very open, and is questions/answer oriented with the aim of having players be creative learners in games and practices. This all relates closely to the four corner model of long term player development: Technical, Tactical, Physical, and Psychological learning.
CYSA has sought to offer an affordable program to provide its members with an exciting local opportunity to continue their development, all within the CYSA ethos of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty and courage. The CYSA recreational league continues to thrive with the addition of Coppell Academy, and the program has been a huge success.
CYSA encourages all of its Academy players to continue to play recreational soccer as well. That being said, U9 and U10 players have the option to play Academy only and are not required to register for recreational soccer.
